The debates concerning casino legislation continue to be a winning topic in Canada. Whilst more and more provinces are coming around to the fact that legalized online gaming can be a positive thing, Newfoundland authorities are trying to prevent such changes. Newfoundland along with four other provinces fall under the jurisdiction of The Atlantic Lottery Corporation.
Newfoundland’s attitude is proving to be an annoyance to the other three provinces who would welcome the opportunity for fresh business and expansion.
However, Nova Scotia’s Finance Minister, Graham Steele, insists that they will push ahead with their online casino developments, even if Newfoundland back out. Steele argues that alcohol, which is legal, is far more detrimental to individuals suffering with addictions than the likes of online gambling
